I actually already knew that! ;) I have a feeling it’s page related, whatever does not work in the activity stream always works in the forum, but I have not tested it properly yet.

Here’s an update on this. I just realized that if you add some kind of character after the name like this @username. then it won’t create the link because it thinks the character is a part of the username. Examples: I like @yvonne. I like @yvonne . So something to note when using @mentions is to make [...]

Good points @yvonne. Technically the activity stream is visible if you hit the right URL, but I’m not exposing that URL right now. Give me a bit longer here to get back to this because I’d like to work out a new approach and design with you all, based on this feedback. The home page [...]

I really like how you put things, @yvonne . About getting a feel for the friendly and slightly ridiculous bit (yet with substance; I think this is about welcoming the Whole person), I agree. I was thinking something along the lines of “testimonials”–I love HG because…or some other way of giving a snapshot of life at [...]

Here are my thoughts (some same as Sharon’s): The layout is very Mac software oriented, it’s the same kind of displayed structure as you often find when you go to buy software for your Mac. It’s nice and clear, but maybe not very thrilling, not very flowing or making your imagination burst into tiny stars [...]

I LOVE your idea of giving it more flow. I’m totally going to do that. Regarding the magazine/blog words and the layout of the read page… you bring up very valid usability issues. I won’t explain (yet) about this piece, but thanks for that feedback cuz that’s important. Okay let me come back to all [...]

OK, a couple thoughts. CORRECTION: MANY thoughts–even some useful ones, I hope! And so long I’m having to divide it into multiple posts. I had no idea I was going to write all this. And it was written without any prior reflection, just whatever came to mind as I was looking and typing. I’ll sleep [...]

Uranus in Aries is dragging me like a bound cowboy behind a horse right now… I’m flyin’ all over the place with this energy ha ha, but I want to get back to site usability a little here . I want some feedback on the home page. Log out of your account and hit the [...]

HUM! They all worked! I’m not sure why it’s working in some cases and then not working in others, but your best bet is to always type the @ symbol first, then the username all in lower-case letters. I’ve been a little code-fried lately and haven’t had the mental focus to work on stuff like [...]

Hey!! Just because I’m not wearing my nerd glasses does not mean I am stupid!!! Of course not Yvonne@!!! It goes like this:
- typing yvonne
- moving cursor to before yvonne
- insert @ -
Suzanne Ahjira posted on the forum topic @name in the group Site Development: 10 months, 3 weeks ago · View
Do you mean like this Yvonne@ ???
It has to be like this @Yvonne.

I believe I found the reason, because it happened again. If you write a name and then add the “@” after writing it, then you don’t get a link!

@yvonne it may have had something to do with the way you originally typed it, for example, pasting my name there or originally having a space between the @ and the name. I’m not sure why it did not resolve the name in that case. This software is a little buggy like that :-L
